Germany's Der Spiegel magazine has claimed the German Defence Ministry paid a total of $20,000 to the families of three Afghan civilians killed last month when German forces fired on them.

The incident occurred when German security forces at a checkpoint opened fire on a vehicle carrying a woman and two children.

A soldier who was manning the checkpoint near Kunduz in northern Afghanistan is being investigated over the shooting.

The ministry has confirmed that a payment was made to the victims' families but has not given a sum.

Germany makes payment to families of killed Afghan civilians

It was some 30 years ago that Corporations valued the life of a worker in the US AT $179 of expense to provide safety or safety equipment. But even then when it went to court, paid in excess of a million dollars.

It has always caused me wonder, why Foreign Countries and there Courts allow such disparagies($6666). The Brit seem to be three times better than the pitiful US compensations.
