Trans-Asian Railway at a halt due to Thaksin incident

Ongoing hostilities between Cambodia and Thailand are believed to be jeopardising the completion of the Trans-Asian Railway.
Ongoing hostilities between Cambodia and Thailand are believed to be jeopardising the completion of the Trans-Asian Railway.

The project, worth 15 billion dollars, could fail in an area which connects Kunming in southern China, to Singapore, through Sisophon, Cambodia, to Aranyaprathet, Thailand.

The full track, which runs along a path of 5300 kilometres could vanish if the diplomatic situation becomes deadlocked.

The line from Cambodia to Vietnam is the most important part of the project, representing a strategic point for the entire region.

There is no point in the link between Ho Chi Minh City and Phnom Penh, without connection with Thailand.

The Trans-Asian Railway is a project aimed at creating an integrated rail network for Europe and Asia to unite Istanbul with Singapore, following on to China.

The diplomatic wrangle between Phnom Penh and Bangkok flared up after the decision of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen to take exiled Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra into the country as a financial adviser.

Thaksin had been sentenced to two years prison in Thailand for corruption.

Since Thaksin's arrival in Cambodia, the two countries have withdrawn their respective ambassadors and a Thai citizen was arrested in Cambodia on charges of espionage.

Asia/Europe railway could be halted because of Thaksin

The Thai people and there government need to get over it about Thaksin Shinawatra do or don’t do, He is a rich man, if Thai don’t need him, he can use his knowledge to help others country, so hopefully the world will be a better place for everyone, It’s only a few Thai people and Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva is part of these people, that hate Thaksin Shinawatra, and like to see him in Hell is a place of suffering and punishment in the afterlife, often in the underworld. Some Thai people forget when Mr.Thaksin was in power Thai were the most prosper country, and now Thai people and government fighting each other, and killing each other, Thai country is going backward, and Cambodian and Vietnam are going forward, Thai have to remember one things that Thai have to respect your neighboring country, today is not like yesterday, these country and people they fight back until one man standing, we have our leader that can lead us how to defense our homeland people we already have our lesson, Thai country is not that powerful, Thai army are weak, and your air force also weak. The neighboring country they are not afraid.
The more Thai try to bully other country the deep trouble you will get. Just get over just try to live side be side with your neighbor and be a leader and a good example we are brother, we can live together. Try to have more peace than peace well come, when you think that it can be peace than peace well come true. Thanks. Let be peace to all people that wanted to live in peace.

Trans Asian Railway

In an increasingly unified global village, every country will benefit from being part of the rail linkage. If Thailand causes the trans Asian railway to breakdown, they will be the biggest loser. Others such as Cambodia and Vietnam may also lose in the short term but they will be motivated to find ways to do without Thailand’s cooperation.

For the clueless, the disruption of the railway links between Cambodia and Thailand works to the advantage of the US military and its masters (jewish banking oligarchs) to try to contain the dollar decline and the replacing economic power of the world, China. This is a setback to the China-ASEAN free trade movement.

Trans Asian Rail

I think this rail line is important and should go through. When are people going to wake up and see Taskin for the crook and dis-honest guy that he is. Open your eyes and see all the good the things the new Thai President has done in a short time. Things Taskin said could not be done. Cambodia needs to dump Taskin tomorrow. Cambodia may not like Thailand, who knows, but having Taskin there only shows that Taskin can buy his way into Cambodia and that the leaders there do not care about their people but just their pockets.

The alternative

If Thai and Cambodian government still have a conflict, the only alternative is to construct the line from Vinh to Tha Khaek and Tha Khaek to Viengchan alogn with the line from Tha Nalaeng to Vieng Chan

ThaiAsia Railroad

Don’t try to run over Thailand by pushing a railroad down their throat. If Cambodia wants to be a maverick in the works, then let Cambodia be responsible for their actions. I believe Thailand is making the right decision.
