AMMAN, 26th, October 2022 (WAM) -- H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Mafraq Festival for Arabic Poetry was launched in the Jordanian capital Amman.
The event was organised by the Department of Culture in Sharjah in cooperation with the Jordanian Ministry of Culture.
The - 5 -day Festival witnessed the participation of more than 25 Jordanian poets in the presence of Abdullah bin Muhammad Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Culture in Sharjah, Hazza Al Barari, Secretary General of the Jordanian Ministry of Culture, and Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Al Qasir, Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs in the Department, in addition to Jordanian and Arab intellectuals, writers, academics, and many poem lovers.
Abdullah bin Muhammad Al Owais delivered a speech in which he stressed the importance of joint cultural cooperation, and the activities it produces that have a prominent presence in the Arab literary arena.
Al Owais emphasised that the collaboration between the Department of Culture in Sharjah and the Jordanian Ministry of Culture is an example for close cooperation, making this successful partnership a method to support Arab culture and continue producing a range of cultural events.
